Director General of Police Anurag Sharma on Monday admitted that an alert has been sounded across Telangana State, especially Hyderabad and Cyberabad police commissionerates’ limits, in view of bomb blast in Bangalore.
Addressing the annual conference at State Police Headquarters here, the DGP said no specific alert or input has been received from the Centre. However, in view of the Bangalore blast, the police personnel across the State have been asked to stay alert. He maintained that there was no communication gap between the State and Central intelligence agencies. He claimed that there was no specific security threat in Hyderabad and Cyberabad police limits.
The DGP said that specific instructions have been issued to the organisers of New Year parties across the State and all hotels, clubs, resorts and other venues were asked to follow mandatory security and other measures.
Referring to the terrorist attack on Peshawar school, Anurag Sharma said since it was not possible to provide security at all schools, the managements, parents and the students have been advised to take all precautionary measures. However, he said armed vehicles and pickets are being deployed in school zones. (INN)
