Telangana note not presented in Cabinet meeting

Govt. of India categorically explained that no second opinion has been formed on Telangana issue. It is firm on the formation of separate Telangana State. The process of its formation is in progress. It will not affect the polling in Five State Assemblies. Home Minister, Mr. Shushil Kumar Shinde had made an announcement on 2nd September that the cabinet note would be presented within 20 days but it was not done so when cabinet meeting took place. Govt. of India clarified this issue since the people of Telangana had apprehensions about it whether the Govt. of India is thinking in a different way.

Information Minister, Mr. Manish Tiwari told that Govt. is firm on its decision to form separate Telangana State and there is no question of going back. He further told that there are some sensitive issues related to Telangana for which some time is required to give a serious though to it. Govt. had constituted a commission which presented its recommendation based on which Central Govt. took a decision to form separate Telangana State. He further informed that Cabinet note has been prepared and it has reached the Home Minister. It will be presented to the cabinet for its approval very soon. He clarified that it has no connection with the elections to be held in five States. It will not hinder the process of formation of Telangana. He also informed that a decision will be taken soon about the future of Hyderabad city.

Spokesmen of AICC, Mr. Chacko told in a press conference that there is no scope for revising the decision taken for the formation of separate Telangana State. He told that Telangana issue was pending for the past 50 years. Now the Congress Working Committee has found out a solution for it. There is no question of withdrawing it. The other issues arising out of formation of Telangana will be resolved soon. He told that the MPs of Seema Andhra region have pressure from the public, therefore they are talking of tendering their resignations.
