Hyderabad, December 22: TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao today hit back at those campaigning against the formation of a Telangana state, saying the proponents can also cause a constitutional crisis as over 100 MLAs from the region are ready to quit.
He again warned of a “catastrophe” if the promise of a separate Telangana with Hyderabad as its capital does not materialise and opposed Centre’s discussions on the issue with opponents.
“If Telangana statehood is not realized, then there will be a catastrophe,” Rao said.
Criticising the leaders from coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema, he said public representatives from Telangana regions are also ready for creating a Constitutional crisis.
“Can’t we create a Constitutional crisis? 100 Telangana MLAs are ready to resign. Telangana MPs would not back out,” he said, addressing a meeting of his party workers at the TRS headquarters here.
