Telangana minorities’ welfare department to hold literary & cultural programmes from May 22

Hyderabad: In regard to OU centenary celebrations, Minority Welfare Department in collaboration with Telangana State Urdu Academy is organising literary and cultural programmes for 3 days. 2-day National Seminar on Osmania University ¬— history, culture and prospects will be conducted on May 22 and 23 at The Plaza Hotel, Begumpet.

Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali will preside over the inaugural session of the national seminar on May 22, at 10:30 am. The programme will have four special sessions in which eminent scholars will present papers.

Adviser to state minorities’ welfare department AK Khan, Secretary Minority Welfare Syed Omer Jaleel, ex-Vice Chancellor Osmania University Prof. Sulaiman Siddiqui and Nawab Fazal Jah Bahadur son of VII Asif Jahi Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan will be the chief guests. Director/Secretary Urdu Academy Prof. S A Shukoor will be the convenor.

Shaam-e-Ghazal will be organised on May 25 from 7 to 11 pm at Telugu Lalitha Kala Thoranam Public Garden, Nampally. Internationally renowned ghazal singer Pankaj Udhas will perform at the event.
