Hyderabad, December 17: Ministers from Telangana, in their attempt to avoid media glare, enacted a high drama and played hide-and-seek with mediapersons in a filmy style at the D-Block of the State Secretariat here today.
P Lakshmaiah, J Krishna Rao, K Venkat Reddy, R Venkat Reddy, P Sudarshan Reddy, Sunitha Laxma Reddy and DK Aruna went to the chambers of Higher Education Minister D Sridhar Babu on the third floor for a luncheon meeting. After about 30 minutes, they came out and headed towards the elevator. Even as the elevator’s door was shut, cameramen and reporters raced down the stairs to reach the ground floor to be in time and wait for the elevator to descend. But, in the meanwhile, the elevator halted for a brief stint, giving rise to rumours that it developed a snag and the ministers were stuck in it.
Even as some news-hungry and enthusiastic TV journalists reported the news, their channels started flashing the news.
Soon the elevator’s door opened only to stun the waiting mediamen who found it empty.
It took some time to dawn on them that the ministers had changed their plan and got off midway, and shifted to another elevator on the rear side and slipped out through the rear gate.
