Hyderabad, April 04: After a brief lull in the Telangana movement, there is going to be some action soon. The Telangana Journalists Forum (TJF) has decided to organise protest programmes for three days at Delhi from April 21. All the political parties, including the Congress, and all the people’s organisations of the Telangana region are likely to take part in the protests.
The TJF wants to raise a national discussion on the Sri Krishna Committee report on the state bifurcation issue.
Telangana TDP Forum convener Nagam Janardhan Reddy, TDP MLAs Jaipal Yadav, K Hareeshwar Reddy, Ch Vidyasagar Rao (BJP), Nayani Narasimha Reddy (TRS), Govardhan (CPIML New Democracy), Professor M Kodandaram (TJAC), Vedakumar (TPF), K Vimala and several other T activists discussed the Delhi tour programme at a round table organised by the TJF here today.
TJF convener Allam Narayana alleged that the state and Centre had already started implementing the recommendations in the Eighth Chapter of the Sri Krishna Committee report, which he said included managing political parties and the media to water down the demand for Telangana statethood. The killing of former CPI Maoist and TRS leader Sambasivudu was an indication to this. “The state is doing this with an intention to deny Telangana statehood,” he alleged.
Telangana leaders of the Congress and the TDP, TRS, BJP, CPI, CPIML New Democracy besides representatives of the JACs and Telangana people’s organisations would take part in the rallies and public meetings to be held in Delhi, he said.
“We are plying the role of a facilitator for the Telangana movement,” the TJF convener clarified.
