Telangana leaders get APCOB post

Mahaboobnagar DCCB chairman Veera Reddy has been appointed as the Chairman of Andhra Pradesh Cooperative Bank (APCOB) for a period of two-and-a-half years. Similarly, Karimnagar DCCB chairman Ravinder Rao would be the chairman for the remaining two-and-half-years.

PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana said that post was given to Telangana men following pressure from the leaders of the region.

However, talking to reporters later, Secondary Education Minister K Parathasarathy said that the decision was not taken on regional lines, but with consensus. He also announced that the Vice-Chairman would be elected in the APCOB’s first meeting.

According to sources, Information Minister D K Aruna was instrumental in getting the key post for his supporter Veera Reddy. Although intense lobbying was done to ensure nomination of former Minister Pinnamaneni Venkateswara Rao of Krishna district, the post was given to the Mahabubnagar DCCB chief. (INN)
