Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has decided to create some more districts in the state.
The decision was taken by the Chief Minister in a review meeting he had with senior officials, an official release stated today.
An official announcement in this regard is expected on the occasion of State Formation Day on June 2.
“The new districts may come into being from either August 15 or Dussehra. The total number of districts may go up to 24-25,” the release said.
Also there may be reorganisation of mandals and a Revenue Divisional Officer will be appointed for every eight to 10 mandals with a view to better administrative convenience, it said.
State Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma has been instructed to come up with an action plan for creation of new districts, the released added. PTI
