Telangana Hajj quota likely to be increased

Telangana Hajj quota is likely to be increased for Hajj 2016 as Central Hajj Committee has agreed to allot quota according to the Muslim population in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh as per 2011 census. Central Hajj Committee had convened a meeting of Hajj committee Chairpersons of all the states and Executive Officers. Chairman Qaiser Shameem, Chief Executive Officer Ataur Rahman, Vice Chairman Marghoob Ahmed and Karnataka minister Raushan Baig attended the meeting.

Special Officer Prof. S A Shukoor represented Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Hajj Committees. He pushed for allotment of quota to Telangana as per the Muslim population. Central Hajj Committee authorities agreed to keep in view 2011 census while allotting quota the next year.
