Telangana employees allege discrimination by Andhra officials

Alleging discrimination and disrespect by the State Government and Andhra officials over distribution of health cards to employees, members of Telangana Gazetted Officers Association on Thursday barged into the Secretariat where a review meeting under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Minnie Mathews on the subject was going on.

Sensing the situation the officials have postponed the meeting immediately. Later, the Chief Secretary announced that the meeting would held on Friday.

Meanwhile, addressing the media persons after participating in the protest at the Secretariat, TGOAs president V Srinivas Goud said that former chief minister Dr Y S Rajashekhar Reddy agreed to provide Health Cards to the government employees but the Andhra officials were trying to deprive the Telangana employees from the health benefit. Demanding separately health cards to the employees instead of Rajiv Arogyashree card, he alleged that the Andhra officials were benefitting from the corporate hospitals of their region through the Arogyashree trust.

Srinivas Goud demanded that the State Government upgrade Osmania, Gandhi, NIMS, Kakatiya and other hospitals in Telangana region through releasing of funds by entrusting the implementation of scheme to them.
