New Delhi, December 21: Raising the Telangana issue in the 83rd plenary session of All India Congress Party, Karimnagar MP Ponnam Prabhakar urged the Congress president Sonia Gandhi to stand by to Union Minister of Home P Chidambaram statement on the process of forming Telangana made on December 9, 2009. Ponnam Prabhakar on Monday stated ‘the Telangana people are eagerly waiting for the announcement on the formation of separate state.’
Ponnam Prabhakar who is also convener of Congress MP Forum while addressing on the concluding day of the ICC plenary session said ‘Telangana people’s eyes are set on Congress party which is famed for its historical decisions. The time has ripe to fulfill the promise made last year.’
The MPs statement drew loud applause from the Congress leaders from Telangana, apart from some others from different parts of the country, apart from ‘Jai Telangana’ slogans.
Mr Prabhakar urged the Congress High Command to fulfill the aspirations of Telangana people by forming the separate state.
