Telangana EAMCET web counselling dates postponed again

Hyderabad: The EAMCET counselling process in Telangana State, that was to begin on July 8(Wednesday)has been postponed, informed the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE). However, the authorities did not disclose the new dates for counselling.

The notification came soon after the High Court on Tuesday directed the Telangana government and the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University of Hyderabad (JNTU-H) to include over 20 private engineering colleges in Eamcet web counselling list for the academic year 2015-16.

As per the previous schedule, the students could give college options in web counselling between July 8 and 11. The seats were to be allotted on July 15.

Justice A Ramalingeswara Rao issued the directive on a batch of petitions filed by managements of several private engineering colleges urging the court to direct the JNTU to withdraw their affiliation as unconstitutional.

The judge directed the university to undertake the exercise to revise its regulations with the help of legal experts, academicians and college managements.

Officials of Telangana State Council for Higher Education said that the new counselling schedule will be announced on Wednesday evening.
