Telangana doctors lap up KCR’s ‘surgery talk’

Hyderabad, November 23: Telangana Rasthra Samiti (TRS) chief K Chandrasekhar Rao said Andhra Pradesh will have to go under knife if Telangana state should materialise.

“It will be good for both Seemandhra and Telangana if the surgery is smooth,” he said while reacting to 35 demands placed before him by Telangana Government Doctors Association. He told the doctors that their demands could be realised only in separate Telangana.

The TRS chief graced the TGDA’s first state-level convention held at Osmania Medical College auditorium here today as chief guest.

The auditorium reverberated with applause and whistles all through Rao’s 45- minute speech.

Doctors and medicos from Telangana turned up in large numbers to the meet. Rao launched the association’s website shortly before the meeting.

“Telangana leaders opposed the proposal of merging Hyderabad state with Andhra in 1956 fearing exploitation. Now people are demanding separate Telangana state after being exploited in the 54-year long journey,” the TRS honcho observed.

Telangana people have always faced trouble and crises from Nizam’s rule till date, he said and added that bifurcation was the only solution to the problems of Telanganites.

“The Andhra leaders seem to be following the policy of divide-andrule with regard to Telangana political leaders,” he felt.

Referring to DGP Aravinda Rao’s request for additional police forces, KCR sought to know as to why do they need additional platoons. “Do we look like street-fighters?,” he questioned.

“After 54 years of merger, Hyderabad is stinking. Situation in separate Telangana will be different. Hyderabad will be made clean and green. All government employees will be paid salaries on with central government scales,” he said.

Elaborating further on his vision for separate Telangana, he said there would be a software city, a film city on the lines of Hollywood, new universities and many more. TGDA president Dr. B Ramesh, secretary general Dr. P Praveen, treasurer Umakanth Rao and others were present.

Earlier, TDGA members took out a motorcycle rally and welcomed the TRS chief at Abids. Rao hoisted TRS flag at ENT government hospital, Koti.
