Telangana Director General of Police Anurag Sharma today reviewed arrangements made by the district authorities for the Medaram Jaatharaa (fair) to held here in February.
Around one crore people are expected to take part in the fair.
Sharma advised cops to ensure that pilgrims are send in queues so that no untoward incident will be held.
After vising the bathing ghats, the Telangana top cop gave directions to avoid stampede on the Jaatharaa days.
“Police should work hard and take inspiration from the success of Godavari Pushkaralu to also make Medaram Sammakka Saarakka Jaatharaa a success,” he told reporters.
According to him after Telangana was formed, this is the first time the fair will be held in the state.
