Telangana CS advocates joint inspection of Metro Rail works

Telangana Chief Secretary Dr. Rajiv Sharma conducted Special Task Force (STF) meeting here on Tuesday and reviewed the progress of Hyderabad Metro Rail project.

HMR Managing Director NVS Reddy made a detailed presentation on the Action Taken Report (ATR) on the decisions of the STF meeting held on January 27, 2015.

The Chief Secretary reviewed the status of 323 properties (219 private, 79 Government Vested Municipal Properties (GVM) and 13 Government). He fixed targets for every individual property and instructed the GHMC Commissioner, Collectors of Hyderabad and RR Districts to adhere to the same. He appreciated the good progress achieved during the previous week.

Dr Sharma also reviewed the development works for improving the carriageway, central median, sidewalks and junctions in Nagole to Mettuguda stretch (Stage 1). He desired that the list of developmental works that are being taken by GHMC and HMR to be given work wise with probable dates of completion.

The Chief Secretary, while reviewing the traffic permissions for Metro Rail works, suggested that every week there shall be at least one joint inspection comprising of HMR MD, GHMC Commissioner, Addl. Commissioner of Police (Traffic) and senior engineers of L&TMRHL to identify road improvement works to be taken up for facilitating better traffic movement during execution of Metro Rail works. He said utmost care should be taken by the L&TMRHL while executing the Metro Rail works, keeping in view the safety of road users and efforts shall be made to take up traffic related improvement works as suggested by traffic police, and thereby ensure least inconvenience to the road users.

CP (Traffic) K. Jitender; Hyderabad Collector K Nirmala, Ranga Reddy District Collector Raghunandan Rao, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, A. Shilpa Rao and other senior officials and engineers of all utility organisations of Government of Telangana, HMR and LTMRHL have participated in the meeting. (INN)
