Telangana: Campaigning ends on April 9, smooth polls on April 11

Hyderabad: CEO Rajat Kumar today said that the EC has made elaborate arrangements for smooth conduct of Lok Sabha polls. He informed reporters that 2,97,95,099 people will vote in the polls in 34,604 polling stations. While the polls will be conducted in Nizamabad from 6 am to 8 pm all other segments will go for polls from 7 am to 6 pm.

Campaign will end on April 9, the political parties can campaign till 5 pm in all segments and in Nizamabad by 6 pm as 185 candidates are in fray.

Rajat Kumar said that mock polling will be held in Nizamabad from 6 am to 8 am and real polling by voters will from 8 am to 6 am he said. Rajat Kumar also informed that the voting and polling will be live telecast in 4,169 polling stations. The EC has allowed to 12 types of identity cards of the state and central government including voter identity cards, pass port, driving license, pan card and others. The model code is being seriously maintained and any violation will be dealt with seriously he warned.

The CEO also said that 460 cases on social media were filed for violation of the poll code and steps will be taken. On a complaint of political meetings against poll code at Pragathi Bhavan residence of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao by the Congress he said that a letter was written to the EC. Rajat Kumar also said that action will be taken against private sector if deny holiday to its employees and also action will be taken against those who take selfies in polling booths.

Expressing satisfaction at the poll arrangements, he said that 400 engineers are involved in the electioneering works for smooth polls in coordination with adequate police personnel.
