Telangana Cabinet gives nod for Horticulture Corporation

The Telangana Government has decided to establish the Horticulture Corporation and also sanctioned various posts for the same.

The decision was taken during the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao here on Sunday. Briefing the media persons after three-hour long meeting, Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy and Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao said that the cabinet has given its nod for the formation of Horticulture Corporation.

They said that the cabinet also approved hastening of process for regularisation of contract employees. The cabinet also decided to re-design the Damogudem Project in Khammam and name it after Lord Sri Ram. Nearly 5 lakh acres of land would be irrigated under this project.

Harish Rao informed that a Cabinet Sub-Committee has been constituted to promote film industry in Telangana State. The sub-committee would be headed by Commercial Taxes Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav. Similarly, another sub-committee, headed by Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, has been constituted to review the problems being faced by cooperative diary.

According to sources, the Telangana Cabinet has also discussed the issues pertaining to Budget 2016-17, increase in salaries of out sourcing employees and construction of one lakh units of 2BHK houses in Hyderabad. Construction of three new hospitals on Hyderabad’s outskirts and providing house-sites to journalists were also discussed during the meeting.

The Chief Minister has reportedly congratulated his cabinet colleagues on the historic victory of TRS in GHMC elections and also interacted with them on election of new Mayor and Deputy Mayor. (INN)
