The City Police personnel on Wednesday foiled at attempt by the students of Osmania University to take out a rally in protest against the proposal of Rayala Telangana.
Hundreds of students took out a rally from the OU campus on Wednesday raising slogans against the Rayala Telangana. They demanded that the Centre does not dilute the demand for Telangana by adding two districts from Rayalaseema into the new State. However, the students were stopped at the NCC Gate by the security personnel who were present in large numbers. This led to a heated argument between the students and police officials.
The City Police said that the rally was not permitted as the OU students did not take prior permission for the same. (INN)
