The Bharatiya Janata Party would conduct Gram Sabhas across Telangana State from 14th to 24th April.
Speaking to media persons here on Wednesday, Telangana BJP President Dr. K. Lakshman said that the Gram Sabhas were being conducted to create awareness about various schemes of Central Government. He also informed that village-level celebrations of 125th birth anniversary of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar would be held across Telangana State on Thursday.
Lakshman accused the TRS Government of completely neglecting the education sector. Referring to the Supreme Court’s remarks against State Government for having zero admissions in over 300 schools, he said there were about 800 schools which had only 10 students. He alleged that the TRS Government was preparing a ground to shut down nearly 1300 schools in the State. This is being done only to promote private and corporate schools, he said.
The BJP leader said that the State Government was not filling up the vacant posts of teachers by conduting DSC. He said of 2,733 posts in 11 State universities, as many as 1,504 were vacant. For the first time in 50 years, the Osmania University is on the verge of losing NAC Accreditation due to the negligence of State Government, he alleged. (INN)
