Hyderabad, July 26: The Telangana Devalayamula Mathaika Archaka Udyogula Sangham has appealed to the Telangana Archakas, employees and Brahmins to extend their support for the formation of separate State by casting their votes en masse to the Telangana Rashtra Samithi candidates in the by-election.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Sunday, the Sangham president, Mr Gangu Bhanumurthy, said that they had submitted a report to the Justice B N Srikrishna Committee enumerating the problems being faced by Telangana Archakas and Brahmins in the Andhra dominated Andhra Pradesh. He also alleged that all the temple lands in the region were encroached and being enjoyed by the Andhra rulers. He said that the lands belonging to Sri Sitaramachandraswamy temple, Devar Yamjal and Gurukul Ghatkesar Trust lands in Kondapur were encroached upon by the Andhra migrants leaving the people of Telangana in lurch.
Stating that separate Telangana State was the only solution, Mr Bhanumurthy said that even as per the amended Endowments Act of 2007, the Archakas migrated from the Andhra region were benefitted and the priests in Telangana were rendered great injustice. He also alleged that the State government had failed to implement GO No 65-A since the last two years reflecting its negligent attitude towards the Telangana Brahmans.
Mr S. Basaveshwar Rao, honorary president, Mr M. Srinatha Sarma, secretary, and others were also present.
