The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday raided residences of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA Revanth Reddy and two others in Hyderabad in connection with the cash-for-vote case.
Other than Reddy the ACB raided the residences of TDP Christian Cell head Bishop Harris Sebastian and BJYM president Rudra Uday Simha.
On May 31, the ACB had arrested Reddy for allegedly trying to bribe the nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson to vote for TDP nominee in the Telangana Legislative Council Elections.
Based on a complaint by Stephenson, ACB officials held Revanth, Sebastian Harry and Uday Simha after they were caught while allegedly handing over Rs 50 lakh to Stephenson.
As per the ACB, Revanth Reddy and his aide allegedly offered a bribe of Rs 50 lakh as advance as part of the Rs 5 crore deal.
The TDP MLA and his aide had gone to the residence of Stephenson at Lalaguda in Secunderabad to hand over the cash when the ACB sleuths caught them offering the bribe, an ACB officer said.
Under attack over his alleged bribe offer, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday accused his Telangana counterpart K Chandrasekhar Rao of conspiring against him and called Sonia Gandhi a “betrayer” for division of Andhra Pradesh.
In a strongly-worded attack over his name cropping up in the cash-for-vote controversy, Naidu warned Rao that things should not be stretched too far, in an attack that comes after his phone was tapped by the Telangana government.
