Even as the high drama on Telangana is continuing, youngsters are ending their lives for the cause. On Wednesday alone, three youngsters ended their lives.
In Karimnagar district, Tadagona Ajay (21) a degree student of Gatla Narsingapur village under Bhimadevarapalli mandal committed suicide. He was watching TV at around 10 pm with his parents Srinivas and Lakshmi.
Then he went into the kitchen, poured kerosene on himself and set himself on fire. Shouting Jai Telangana slogas, he ran into the streets and his parents followed him in horror. Unable to bear the pain, he plunged into an agriculture well. His parents also jumped in, to save their son. Locals who picked up the three, could save only the parents. Srinivas was dead by the time he was taken out of the well.
He wrote in his suicide note that he was ending his life as the union home minister Shinde had not conceded Telangana on January 28.
In Bhongir of Nalgonda district, one Ramulu Goud, a journalist told his friends that he would end his life for Telangana. He hit a bus with his bike and got killed.
In Mahabubnagar district, Dinesh (23), a B.Tech student of Achampet, committed suicide in Saroornagar in Hyderabad. Dinesh was a student of a private engineering college in Hyderabad. His father Ramesh is a clerk and mother Sasikala supplements his income by doing small errands.
Dinesh sent a SMS to his uncle’s son Raghava that he would be committing suicide. He then switched off his mobile phone. Raghava gave the information to his father Dinesh and sister. By the time they came back, Dinesh died by hanging himself to the ceiling fan. He wrote a suicide note, expressing hope that at least his death would achieve Telangana. He appealed to KCR to achieve Telangana without enforcing bandhs. Admitting that what he was doing was wrong, he appealed to others not to do the same mistake.
Meanwhile, Mahesh (27), a TRS activist of Nagampet village of Karimnagar district who set himself on fire succumbed to the injuries on Wednesday at the Sircilla hospital. Before his death, he gave a statement before a magistrate that he was ending his life only for Telangana. His wife Kavya has complained to the police that the union ministers Azad and Shinde were responsible for his death. On Monday, one Bharatapu Chandrasekhar (28) plunged under a train and ended his life at Mancherial in Karim Nagar district.(NSS)
