Hyderabad: It was a moment of joy and happiness for 14 illegal immigrants who returned to New Delhi yesterday morning after they were struck in Iraq for the past five months, reports said.
Sources affirmed that 14 of 15 illegal immigrants have returned back to India, TOI reports.
Telangana Gulf Welfare Association president, P Basanth Reddy, told TOI, “They arrived by a flight to New Delhi from Erbil in Iraqi Kurdistan. They will reach Hyderabad on Wednesday, from there they will be taken to Nizamabad.”
One of the victims, Krishna hailing from Nizamabad, said, “The agent took us from Erbil to Bhagadad. At Baghadad checkpost, the security stopped us and we pleaded with them to spare us, and returned to Erbil. For five months, we were struggling to get food and work.”
E Chiittibabu, Telangana NRI affairs official speaking to TOI told that illegal immigrants land in trouble waters once they reach the country with the help of fake agents where their passports are seized by the employer who does not let them.
