Dehra Dun, April 04: Tehri Congress MLA Kishore Upadhyay ended his indefinite fast on its fourteenth day today after talks with Uttarakhand Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, who accepted most of his demands concerning the development of his constituency.
Nishank and PCC chief Yashpal Arya held hour-long talks with Upadhyay this morning, assuring him amicable resolution on his 25 demands, after which he ended his indefinite fast.
“We are glad to announce that Kishore ji has broken his fast after getting positive assurance from the Chief Minister.
Nearly 70 to 75 per cent of his demands have been accepted by the Chief Minister,” Arya told PTI.
Among the main contentious issues, the Chief Minister has agreed to set up a new forestry or agriculture university at Ranichauri area of Tehri district, he said.
The CM also agreed to promote tourism in and around the Tehri dam reservoir.
