New Delhi, April 16: A second-year BA student appearing for examination and a juvenile were apprehended in the national capital for their alleged involvement in several cases of snatching, police said today.
Pawan Kumar (19) and a teenaged school dropout were held from in south Delhi’s Sarojini Nagar market on Wednesday while they were trying to dispose off a snatched cell phone.
“Pawan told investigators that he has several girlfriends and used to spent a lot of money on them. He also wanted to have a lavish lifestyle and in association with neighbouring boys have been committing such crimes,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) H G S Dhaliwal said.
The arrest came following inputs that a gang were targeting persons walking alone on roadside during late evening hours. In most of the incidents, the suspects have used high-speed motorcycles.
