Teenage girl among three held for gold theft

Hyderabad, September 02: The Hyderabad City Police solved the sensational case of theft of 1 kilogram gold ornaments within four days and took three accused into custody besides recovering the stolen gold.

According to police, the three accused include an 18-year-old girl who committed the offence to earn easy money for their lavish expenditure. The main accused, Amith Shah, is just 20 year-old and studying B Com final year at St George Degree College. The second accused K Sushil Sagar is 21 year-old and owns a cloth shop. The third accused, Ankitha Dounde, is just 18 years old and she is studying B Com second year. All three are residents of Sai Vanam Apartments in KS Lane, Sultan Bazar.

Police say that the three accused know each other for last six years as they live in the same apartment. Amith Shah along with Sushil and Ankitha planned to commit theft of gold ornaments from the house of complainant one Jithender Jain to earn easy money for their lavish expenditures. As per their plan, about one week ago Amith stolen the house key of the Jitendar Jain from his house when his wife was not present and made a false key.

The trio had observed the movements of Jithender and his wife. On August 29th at about 2.30 pm, hours when the wife of the complainant went out for pooja, Amith and Ankitha opened the lock of complainant’s house with the false key and Sushil stood outside the in the ground floor to observe the movements of the inmates or others coming to the apartment. They committed the theft of about one kilogram of gold ornaments from a wooden Almirah by opening the same with available keys in the house.

The Sultan Bazar inspector K Sudarshan and sub-inspector S Saidulu worked out on clues and apprehended Sushil on Friday at his shop at Badi chowdi near Green Mosque. Based on his confession, Amith and Ankitha were also arrested and the stolen gold was recovered from their possession.
