NEW DELHI: A 16-year-old boy was brutally beaten to death by six men here on Tuesday on suspicion of stealing valuables.
According to early reports, the incident took place in the Mukundpur area of the National Capital between 3-4 am on Tuesday.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Aslam Khan said the boy identified as Abdul Rajik was thrashed in Mukundpur area and the boy’s body with limbs tied and bruises were found a day later outside a house.
On the contrary, the family of the victim refutes these accusations claiming that the minor was not a thief and was murdered in cold blood.
The boy hails from Arariya district in Bihar had been studying at a local madrassa in Kanpur. He had come to the city a fortnight ago and was staying with his elder brother Mushahid and two uncles. He also found a job in Delhi as an electrician’s apprentice.
His mother is a homemaker whereas his father Mohamed Zahid works as a laborer in Noida.
According to police, three accused have been held while three others are absconding. A case of culpable homicide had been registered against the accused.
