Bolton, September 22: An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of child abduction and sexual assault after a girl went missing for more than three hours in Bolton.
A six-year-old girl was reported missing in Tonge Moor on Wednesday at 19:45 BST, when she failed to return home with her brother, aged eight.
She was later found near Bolton Royal Hospital at 23:10 BST, police said.
The teeenager is being held in custody. Greater Manchester Police said it was an “isolated incident”.
Ch Insp John Buttress said: “I understand this incident will have caused concern within the local community.
“Police took immediate action, made a prompt arrest and inquiries are ongoing.”
