Teen-age committed suicide unable to bear the harrassment

On Sunday, a 16-year-old girl committed suicide in Jabbapur village, Gowraram mandal in Medak district.

The girl took the extreme step allegedly because she was sexually harassed by her employer. The victim, who worked at a poultry farm, was under pressure by her employer for sexual favors and was harassed when she refused.

The accused, R. Ravinder Goud, runs a poultry farm in the village. The victim had been working there for the past two months. According to the victim’s family, Ravinder had tried to get intimate with the victim many times but the girl had given the cold shoulder to his advances. Annoyed by her refusal, he had started harassing her at the work place.

Unable to bear the harassment, she consumed pesticide on Sunday night.

According to Gajwel circle Inspector Amrutha Rao said, “Depressed by the harassment, she con-sumed poison. Her family members noticed her in an unconscious state and rushed her to the Mediciti Hospital where she was declared brought dead.”

A case was registered based obn the complaint lodged. Her employer is yet to be arrested. The victim’s body was shifted to the Gandhi Hospital and was later taken to the village for funeral.
