BENGALURU: A young techie allegedly killed himself by jumping from the ninth floor of an office complex in Bellandur on Tuesday. Gulshan Chopra (30), hailing from Jalandhar, was a quality analyst at Genpact, a BPO firm. He lived with a friend at a PG accommodation near his office.
He jumped from Tower 12 of Eco Space, police said. Chopra had spent two weeks at his home town, and returned on Monday. He swiped in at his office at about 12 pm.
He called a friend and told him to hand over some stuff in his wardrobe to his parents. He then went to the toilet and plunged from the window, police said.
When Chopra crashed near the car park, security guards went to see what had happened. But no one called the police. For over an hour, colleagues ignored the body lying in a pool of blood, a policeman said. HSR Layout police took the body to Victoria Hospital at 1.30 am. A senior police officer said Chopra had left no suicide note.
Chopra had not told the family about anything troubling him, his father told Express.
“He didn’t seem disturbed when he was in Jalandhar till Sunday. I will ask his colleagues what happened. He was sensitive, but had no personal problem,” Mukesh Chopra told Express over the phone.
