Techie arrested for hacking into Karnataka CM’s twitter handle in 2014

Bengaluru: A techie hailing from Nodekoppalu village in Mandya taluk was recently arrested for hacking into CM Siddaramaiah’s twitter handle in 2014.

A twitter handle is the username one has on twitter which comes with a specific URL.

Madhusudhan RK, 28 reported hacked into the twitter account and used the username to post controversial statements. He also renamed the handle or username as @naanegaddappa(I’m the one who is a man with beard). A complaint was registered back then following the hacking.

The techie works with a private company in Surjapur Road said reports.

The handle @CM of Karnataka was hacked even before it was officially launched and was used for making controversial statements. The arrested techie was quoted saying he hacked the handle ‘just for fun’. “I had no evil intentions. I wanted to mock the system by hacking the CM’s account and post ridiculous messages”.

The hacked handle saw few posts from CM’s temporary Facebook account as well. He also used it to post fake news about the government planning to build 135 slums in Bengaluru for Rs. 2,000 crores, DC reported.
