Government Chief Whip Gandra Venkataramana Reddy on Monday said the tearing of copies of draft Telangana Bill by Seemandhra TDP legislators was a heinous and insane act.
Speaking at the Assembly media point, Venkataramana Reddy strongly condemned the action of the Seemandhra TDP and YSR Congress Party leaders, which was like insulting the people of Telangana. The Congress party understood the decades’ old aspiration of the Telangana people and took a decision for formation of separate Telangana State, he added.
He also profusely thanked AICC president Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister and President of India for acting in favor of formation of separate Telangana State. The people of Telangana region patiently waited for a long period for this day, he added.
Strongly condemning the action of Seemndhra legislators, the Chief Whip said they should raise their objections, if any on Telangana Bill, during discussion in the House. It was not proper on the part of Seemandhra legislators to hurt the sentiment of Telangana people, he added. (NSS)
