SHE teams round up 23 youths for eve teasing

SHE teams of Hyderabad City Police have caught 23 persons for harassing and teasing the women in different ways in different parts of the City.

In the first phone harassment case, N. Reddy Kiran, 23, of Pardhasaradhi Nagar, Dharmavaram in Anantapuram District and K. Ramesh, a student of Indiramma Colony of Dharmavaram were selling SIM cards for service providers. They were also allegedly misusing the SIM cards to call women and harassing them by using vulgar language. Based on a complaint given by two victims from Hyderabad, the persons were traced, caught by SHE teams, arrested and produced in the court.

 

In another case, one Mohd. Saleemuddin, 25, a tailor of Ganga Nagar, Yakuthpura has been harassing a woman by making phone calls and sending Whats app messages to her. As Saleemuddin did not stop harassing the woman even after being warned by her son and husband, they lodged a complaint with the She Team, who arrested and produced him in the court.

 

Two persons — Ammapalli Ravinder Yadav and Gangamoni Paramesh, students, were caught red handed while stalking a college girl, near Dilsuknagar, since a few days. The culprits were trailing her and trying to talk to her asking her name and other details. However, the SHE teams present there caught them red handed and produced in the court.

One Jangam Sangappa, 22, residing near Khairatabad fish market, was trying to talk to an VIII Class girl while she was going to the school. He also allegedly threw some letters at her. When the girl narrated her problem, her parents complained to the SHE Teams, who arrested and produced the culprit in the court.

 

In another case, a girl studying VIII Class in a private school at Chandrayangutta was found sending messages through her mother’s phone to somebody. Her sister and mother found the girl messaging to her Maths teacher. Asked why she was doing that, she told them that the teacher was asking her to call him and send message after going home. He used to praise her looks and send messages after the school. Shocked by this, the parents gave a complaint to SHE teams. They arrested N. Vijaya Kumar, 33, residing at Santhoshnagar and produced him in the court.

The SHE Teams also arrested 13 persons near St Francis College, Kacheguda and three at Zoo park at Bahadurpura while they were teasing girls. In a special operation conducted near St Francis College, Kacheguda, 13 persons were caught red handed with video evidence while they were teasing the girls by passing comments and trying to attract their attention by making gestures, the SHE Teams caught Vivek Singh, 19, Gaurav Singh, 20, and 11 minors. They were counselled, warned for good behaviour in the presence of their parents. Petty cases were registered on the majors and produced in the court.

The police said any complaint of eve-teasing or harassment can be given to the SHE teams, through Dial 100, in case of emergency.
