Team India manager axed on sexual harassment charges

New Delhi, June 19: All is not well with team India, as after the ouster from T20 World Cup, team manager V Chamundeswarnath has been suspended following charges of misbehaviour with the women’s team.

V Chamundeswarnath, who is the secretary of the Andhra Cricket Association, was suspended on Thursday by the state association after a meeting of its executive committee meeting in Vijayawada.

The executive committee found him guilty of misuse of funds and misbehaviour with the women’s team.

Now he could be expelled at a general body meeting next month. The ACA has conveyed its decision to the Board of Control for Cricket in India.

Chamundeswarnath is a member of the Board’s finance and marketing committees.

Chamundeswarnath is a former Andhra captain. Meanwhile, the Indian squad has left for the West Indies. The squad is to be based in Jamaica. Ashish Nehra, Abhishek Nayar, Murali Vijay and S Badrinath will leave for the Caribbean on June 22.
