‘Teaching is a very noble profession that shapes the character, caliber, and future of an individual. If the people remember me as a good teacher, that will be the biggest honour for me.’- by Late Dr A P J Abdul Kalam.
A heart-touching now viral FaceBook post by the page ‘Humans of Bombay’ is about a primary school teacher from Bihar whose decision positively impacted the life of one of his underprivileged students whose dream of becoming a doctor is on the verge.
This teacher could not stay back and watch. He took up the responsibility of paying the fee for the schooling so that the student continue receiving his education.
“I didn’t see the point of saving anything for the future, when I had the power to help him in the present…so why would I even think twice about that?,” he said, in a Humans of Bombay post.
After schooling, he managed his college fees and today he has become a successful doctor, much to his teacher’s pride.
Many commented on the teachers’ kind and selfless act. “One person cannot change the world, but I can change the world for one person,” a FaceBook user wrote.
Another user commented, “As teachers many of us may not have very full wallets…but we all have lived a full life….life full of contentment, pride, love and fulfillment. Many of my students are successful individuals and i am not sure how well i contributed but i did my job honestly and today i rejoice in their successes…God bless you sir for your selflessness.”
