Teachers awarded for use of technology

Hyderabad, April 20: The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) in collaboration with IT major Intel on Tuesday announced the winners of the second edition of ‘Best Integration of Technology in Education’ awards for effective use of technology in teaching and learning processes in the state.

Of the 1,000 entries that were received from colleges all over the state, three colleges, five teacher educators and 10 student teachers received the award.

The St. Peters College of Education, Hanamkonda, Warangal received the first prize in the college of education category. The award in the teacher educator category went to Goli Srilatha from LB College of Education, Warangal while Ravi Kumar Jakkampudi of Sri Y N College of Education won the first prize in the student teacher category.

The award winners gave their feedback on how technology provides them with many innovative ideas and help them become more expressive and inculcate interest among the students.

Speaking on the occasion, chairman of APSCHE, professor Jaya Prakash Rao said that globalisation has changed the role of education. “What really matters is the quality of education. The focus should be on learning. Using technology in education helps students imagine,” he said.
