Tirupati, January 27: Now, it is turn of people in Rayalaseema region to `sacrifice’ themselves for the cause of Samaikyandhra.
A 42-year old teacher T Babu, committed suicide by hanging himself at Srivari Metlu under Chandragiri police limits near here today. Some pilgrims, who found the body hanging from the tree, near an old mandapam at Srivari Metlu, alerted the police.
Initially the police thought it was a case of suicide, but later it was proved to be otherwise in the note (written in a scribbling pad) found in the shirt pocket of the victim.
According to Tirupati DSP Gangaraju, Babu, a native of Kumarapalle in Chinnagottigallu mandal, who resides with his family in STV Nagar of Tirupati, was working as school assistant in Government School at Yagappa Reddy Kandriga village in Ramachandrapuram mandal.
In the suicide note (written in Telugu), he said the State, which was once hailed as Annapurna, today stands on the brink of being divided for selfish reasons. Today, when people have been suffering with increasing prices of essential commodities, what would be their fate once the State is divided. Chandragiri police registered a case and investigation is on. Babu is survived by wife Pushpa, a son and a daughter.
Meanwhile, teachers union members staged demonstration when the body was being taken to SV Medical College for autopsy.
