NEW DELHI: A 31-year-old teacher was shot dead on Monday allegedly by two armed assailants over ‘relationship’ with a Muslim student.
The incident took place at around 8:30 am at a tuition center in northwest Delhi’s Mahendra Park, where the deceased identified as Ankit Garg used to teach.
According to News18 reports, Ankit was allegedly in a ‘relationship’ with a Muslim girl, who wanted to get married. However, the woman’s brother was against their relationship since they belonged to different religions.
The two family members of a Muslim girl allegedly threatened Ankit many times before taking the extreme step.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Aslam Khan said, “The motive is not clear but the victim’s family has alleged that it was due to an affair,” Khan said.
More details in the incident awaited.
Earlier in February this year, 24-year-old photographer Ankit Saxena was stabbed to death by family members of a 20-year-old Muslim woman, with whom he was in a relationship.
The woman’s father, mother, a juvenile younger brother and uncle was detained on the complaint of Saxena’s family.
