Teacher booked for breaking kneecap of student

Chennai, Dec 25: A teacher of a private school in neighbouring Kodaikanal has been booked for allegedly hitting a ninth class student with a golf bat, leading to fracture of his kneecap.

A B Valayapathi, in his petition, submitted that his son, Ayyanan, a hockey player, was hit hard with a golf bat by his teacher Devakumar on October 27 after which he fainted.

When the boy woke up, he found himself in a local hospital, where he was operated upon for a broken kneecap. He was discharged and sent home on October 30. Till then his parents were unaware about his whereabouts.
