Teach Urdu to children – Mahmood Ali’s appeal

Hyderabad: Dy. CM of Telangana State, Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali appealed to the parents to teach Urdu to their children. He mentioned that before the formation of A.P. Urdu was the language of the non-Muslims also but the Andhra rulers made it a very depressed language.

 

He was talking to media men after inaugurating the book stall of Urdu Academy and Minorities Finance Corporation at All India Industrial Exhibition yesterday. He requested the people to teach Urdu as one of the subjects even if their children study in any medium of instructions.

 

He told that Mr. KCR is a Urdu loving CM. There is no state in the country which can present examples of development of Urdu language as Telangana. He mentioned that the first time Muslim students are being provided coaching for IAS and IPS which amounts to an expenditure of Rs. 1 lakh per student. The attempts of the CM for granting overseas scholarships are laudable. He has also started lunch school for Rs. 5. There are many welfare activities which the CM has started.

 

He appealed to the people to visit the stall of Urdu Academy and Minorities Finance Corporation through which the schemes of the Govt. are publicized. Mr. Syed Omer Jallee, IAS, Secretary, Dept. of Minorities Welfare, Prof. S.A. Shukoor, Director Urdu Academy, Mr. Aditya Margam, Secretary of the exhibition and others were present on this occasion. Mr. Mahmood Ali purchased a book on Hazrat Khalid bin Walid from the book stall.
