TDP’s main agenda is to get Benefits of Special Status to the State: Chandrababu

Making it clear that the TDP’s main agenda was to get the benefits of special status in any form, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has said that they accepted for special package because the centre explained that the 14th Finance Commission has made it clear that special status was not been giving to anyone. He stressed that the centre has to accord special status to Andhra Pradesh state as it was giving to others and questioned the centre to tell as to what was the problem in giving special status to the state. He made it clear Andhra Pradesh state has to get the benefits of special status in any form maybe it was special status or package.
Speaking to the media here on Tuesday after conducting a coordination committee meeting at Praja Darbar Hall located at his residence premises, Chandrababu said that the TDP will go in tune with the sentiments of people though the other political parties have their own agenda on division assurances. Lashing out at YSRCP, Chandrababu alleged that the YSRCP was speaking different words every day and said that TDP’s main agenda was the interests of the state.

Reminding that YSRCP praised central budget very first, Chandrababu said that TDP never compromised on special status issue. He firmly said that all benefits which would come from special status as stated by former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh should be accorded to the state.

He alleged that opposition party leader was trying to provoke the people by linking sentiment to special status. Finding fault with the YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Chandrababu alleged that Jagan was enacting resignations drama with ill intention to see that justice was not done to the state.

Taking serious exception at BJP, Chandrababu found fault with the BJP leaders and said that they have to go to Delhi and demand the centre to get the assurances instead of criticising the TDP. The five crore peoples’ demand was to correct the injustice took place due to division of the united state, he exhorted. The TDP government has done lot of development though the centre didn’t extend expected help, he said and directed the party leaders to wage fight till justice was done to the state. The condition of the state was like falling in oven from the pan, he lamented and said that the state has felt that the BJP might do justice as Congress done injustice to the state during division of the state.

He said that it was not possible to move motion of un-trust in the Parliament as the central government has clear majority and there was a need of 54 MPs support to introduce the no confidence motion in the House. He opined that there was a chance that interests of the state will be fulfilled by mounting pressure on the centre while seeking the help of all opposition parties in the Parliament. (NSS)
