TDP will fight till TTD is cleansed of all irregularities: Babu

Tirupati, August 08: Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu said that his party will fight until Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams gets ‘cleansed’ of all irregularities and stated that it is the government’s responsibility to keep the holy place pure and free from any illegal activities.

Talking to media persons before he embarked on his ‘padayatra’ from Lilamahal Centre to pressurize the government to act against the irregularities in the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam’s Trust Board, Mr Naidu said that all those accused of irregularities should be suspended immediately.

The TDP leader offered floral tributes to a statue of Vijayanagaram monarch Srikrishnadevaraya at the Lilamahal centre before he started his padayatra.

The former chief minister said that the padayatra is just a curtain raiser and if the government does not act to cleanse the TDD Trust Board, then the TDP would intensify its protests.

The TDP chief alleged that the irregularities in the temple affairs started from the day former chief minister late YS Rajasekhara Reddy came to power.

Mr Naidu said that if the situation continues in its present state, very soon only the rich will be able to worship the Lord. He said that there have been many protests against the irregularities in the temple affairs but the TTD officials are least bothered.
