TDP :Why CM is not cancelling assingment land to Vanpic

TDP leaders Revanth Reddy and Anagani Satya Prakash have questioned the Chief Minister as to why he was still hesitating to cancel allotment of the assigned lands to Vanpic, though there was a High Court direction to do so.

Speaking to the media here on Wednesday, the TDP leaders said that both late Chief Minister Dr. Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and the minister for investments and infrastructure Mopidevi Venkata Ramana had violated even the cabinet decision and doled away favours to the Vanpic company of Nimmagadda Prasad. They said that instead of putting facts before the people, the Chief Minister, minister Manikya Vara Prasad and Jagan were all telling lies with regard to the project.

Revanth Reddy said that it was atrocious that the project was cleared by the officials even without giving any details about the extent of lands to be allotted to the project just by signing on a white paper with a clause that they would be enclosed later. He said the cabinet had only allotted 30 km of sea coast and 4,000 acres of land for establishing two ports to Vanpic. But by violating even the cabinet decision, the then CM and minister have given away 28,000 acres, including 18,000 acres of assigned lands to the project, though there was a High Court direction against the allocation. He said that BCs and Dalits were thrown on the roads by snatching their lands by just paying nominal compensation. He also said that the government has given four different kinds of explanations through one GO (1115) on the Vanpic land allocation. He said that YSR and Mopidevi had clearly violated the cabinet decisions and the High Court order by allotting the lands of people of 125 villages to the Vanpic project of Nimmaadda Prasad.

Revanth Reddy questioned the Chief Minister to state why he was still hesitating to cancel the land allocations. He also questioned why Kiran Kumar Reddy was hesitating to cancel the excess coastal land allocated to Vanpic. He said while the cabinet cleared only 30 km of coastal land, YSR and Mopidevi had given away 100 km and the excess land could be easily taken back.

Stating that Visakha port was allotted only 18 km of coastal land and 1800 acres of land, he has questioned the Chief Minister to state why Vanpic project needed more than that. Alleging that the State government had informed the Centre that there was no vacant coastal land when the former wanted to establish a port, he said that if the 60 km coastal land additionally given to Vanpic was taken back and given to the Central government, a new port would develop with Central funds and also locals would get employment.

Revant also questioned if the YSR Congress honorary president Y S Vijayamma, who was “trying to use the death of her husband and the arrest of Jagan for political gains”, would go to the Vanpic port and demand returning of lands of farmers. He has also asked if she would write to the government to investigate into the irregularities. He said both Vijayamma and Jagan were trying to gain political advantage out of the prevailing situation and not bothering about victims of the project. He said that too much of greed had landed them in trouble. He said that Vijayamma, who was shedding tears for the release of her son, had no feeling for the poor, whose lands were snatched away for the Vanpic
project.

Anagani Satya Prakash said that the Congress and YSR Congress parties had no right to even show their faces to the people as it was they who had issued GOs detrimental to the lives of the poor. Satya Prakash, who is also in-charge of the Repalle constituency, has said that Vanpic victims were today not in a position to even get their children married.
