Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday demanded that the State Government create a separate ministry for the promotion of Telugu language.
Addressing a meeting of Telugu Rakshanana Vedika at NTR Trust Bhavan, Naidu accused the State Government of neglecting the promotion and growth of Telugu language. He said that although the Central Government has sanctioned a research centre for Telugu, the State Government was not providing land for the same. He demanded that a separate ministry be created in the government for the focused growth and development of Telugu language.
Naidu also appealed to the youth to strengthen their ties with the Telugu language. He said the youth should not ignore the importance of Telugu while learning English or other foreign languages. (INN)
