Adilabad, March 01: Telugu Desam (TDP) activists on Monday exchanged blows with cadres of Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) and Telangana Joint Action Committee who destroyed flexi-banners of TDP’s Adilabad MP Ramesh Rathod and MLA Jogu Ramanna.
The incident occurred when TRS, TJAC and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers pulled down the banners besides, another one of the Congress welcoming district in-charge Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy at Collectorate Chowk and burnt them while returning from a pro-Telangana protest march.
The TDP supporters, who came to know of the incident, immediately accosted the handful of TRS and TJAC cadres. A slanging match was followed by exchange of blows in which a TJAC supporter was roughed up.
Cases were registered against both the sides after they lodged complaints with the Two-Town police. The incident had taken place near the police station.
Effigies burnt
Earlier, Telangana supporters took out a funeral procession and burnt effigies of TDP and Congress public representatives in order to ‘expose’ their anti-Telangana stance.
