The Telugu Desam Party on Sunday threatened to launch agitation if the State Government fails to supply adequate drinking water to Warangal district.
Talking to reporters after meeting Information Technology Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah, TDP senior leader and former minister Kadiam Srihari alleged that injustice was done to Warangal district in release of water from the Sriram Sagar Project. He said of 10 TMC, only 2 TMC of water was released to the districts. Besides facing scarcity of drinking water, the farmers have been suffering due to non-release of adequate water for irrigation.
