TDP threatens stir from April 20 if lands were not restored to farmers

Demanding that the State government return the lands taken over from poor farmers in the name of setting up Special Economic Zones in the State, TDP senior leaders Kodela Sivaprasada Rao and Dadi Veerabhadra Rao on Tuesday warned that the party would launch agitation if the government failed to do so.

Speaking to the media here, the TDP leaders said that they would launch “Bhoo Poratam” with the Kakinada SEZ on the party supremo Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s birthday on April 20. They also lashed out at the government for remaining calm even as the CAG and the CBI reports alleged that large scale irregularities had taken place in the allotment of lands in the name of SEZs. They also slammed the government for not keeping its word on constitution of House Committee on land allotments. (NSS)
