Hyderabad, March 28: The opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) will take up various issues concerning the people,including price rice and drought.
Addressing the media after the party’s politburo meeting, Senior party leader K Yerran Naidu said the politiburo chaired by party President N Chandrababu Naidu met here today after a gap of four months and discussed various issues, including organisational elections.
He said the politbureau passed a resolution and decided to interact closely with the people for two months in April and May and take up their issues.
He alleged that the UPA Government at the Centre and the ruling Congress Government in the state had failed to control the prices of essential commodities. He alleged that the state govenment was removing genuine ration cards in the name of weeding out the bogus ones.
He said the TDP politburo had constitued a seven member committee headed by Ramesh Rathod as Convenor to look into the organisationl elections of the party in the village, Mandal and District level.
He said the party would elect its state President in the party’s “Mahanadu” to be held in the last week of May. He said though the party had welcomed 33 per cent reservation for women, it demanded a sub-quota for Backward and Minorit communities. The party had decided to send a representation to the UPA government in this regard.
