TDP suspends MLA for meeting Jagan in jail

A day after Congress MLA Ramesh Kumar from Chintalapudi joining the YSR Congress party, TDP MLA Praveen Kumar Reddy, representing Tamballapalli constituency in Chittoor district, has made his intentions clear that he might join the YSR Congress party.

Praveen Kumar on Tuesday called on YSR Congress president Jaganmohan Reddy at Chanchalguda Central Prison. About an hour later, the TDP announced his suspension from the party with immediate effect for indulging in anti-party activities. The first time MLA had criticised TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu after the latter wrote a letter to Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh over the Telangana issue.

However, sources say that Praveen Kumar was already preparing to join the YSRCP and took the letter only as a pretext to quit the party. After Tuesday’s meeting, him joining the YSRCP remains a formality, which may happen in a day or two.

Another TDP MLA Amarnath Reddy representing Palamaneru assembly segment in Chittoor is also likely to join the YSRCP.
