The Telugu Desam Party on Sunday slammed Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde for stating that he had no knowledge of the letter written by TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu demanding all party meeting over the Telangana issue.
Talking to reporters here, former minister and TDP Politburo member Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said that Shinde’s statement exposes his ignorance and lack of seriousness in dealing with a sensitive issue like Telangana. He said the letter was sent to Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh in the month of September and an acknowledgement with the Prime Minister’s signature has also been received by the TDP. He said feigning ignorance about Naidu’s letter, Shinde tried to gave an impression that the Prime Minister was different from the Central Government.
Ramakrishnudu said that being the Home Minister, Shinde should have received the letter from the PMO as he was concerned with the subject of new States.
